The Prospect Weather Station is a personal website.  It has no affiliation or funding from a university, no affiliation or funding from any weather company, no affiliation or funding from any commercial sources, and no funding from the State or Federal government.  It is maintained solely by me, Russell Conger. 

Years ago, in 1999, I started The Prospect Weather Station and since then it has increased in volume to hits now averaging over 1000 per day.

The purpose is to pull together the best and most frequently accessed weather data on the world wide web and put it all into one easy to use web site. 

At times, I will insert interesting, fascinating and educational atmospheric and seasonal facts to make the site the best it can be.

In other words, the site is here for your information and convenience and makes everything weather-wise easily available and is manned by a retired professional meteorologist with 32 years of experience with the government.

I'm asking for voluntary money contributions.  Any amount is certainly appreciated.  Please contribute whatever amount you think this site is worth to you.  Think for a moment about how often you use it, what you get out of it, and basically how valuable it is or isn't to you.

This basically works on the honor system.  If you use this site often, please contribute something, even if it's a very small amount.  Every little bit counts.

It is not required that you pay for the use of this website.  If you decide to contribute, it is not a subscription but only a contribution. This site is free for everyone, but voluntary contributions is what keeps it running. This is a one-man show and I do it for fun and to help people. But sometimes, I need a little help too.

I ask for monetary contributions for two reasons: 1) It helps defray operating costs and 2) since, the site is completely free for everyone to use, I encourage frequent visitors to contribute an appropriate amount for how valuable they consider it. It's not just a matter of paying for the costs involved, but also, because, quality control is essential resulting in requiring a tremendous amount of time.  I hope that is worth something. I try to make my site convenient for all folks.

This web site is a free public service and is a non-profit system intended for informational purposes only. Any money contributed to this web site will be deposited directly into an interest bearing  account to be used only for maintenance of the weather station.

Without contributions, I cannot afford to keep this website online for an extended period.
