In an effort to supplement the existing rainfall network and spur interest in the science and education of meteorology, I have decided to supply selected locations nearby THE CITY OF PROSPECT with a needed accurate and quality measuring rainfall devices/rain gauges.
This is an experimental local mini rainfall network and it is hoped that the additional rainfall reports will be used to supplement the cooperative observer rainfall network now provided by the National Weather Service in Louisville. The experimental, totally volunteer, mini-rainfall network will use an 11 inch plastic rain gauge made to achieve accurate measurements from 01" upwards to 11". It is pictured below.
Note: Routinely, recording or measuring rainfall is not required or requested. If, U want your rainfall measurement to appear online it will be placed there by calling in the collection at your location by calling and leaving a message of the time, location and amount of your report and REMARKS if any.
