CITY COUNCIL MEETING
September 20, 2004

PRESENT:
Mayor Lonnie Falk; Council Members Nan Milliman, Harold Smith, Alan Simon,
Sandra Leonard, Sandy Tucci; City Attorney Grover Potts, City Administrator
Ann Simms; Recording Secretary Ann Melton; Court Reporter Bonnie Abel.
Mayor Falk opened the meeting and introduced Mayor for the Day Megan Leonard
at 7:30 p.m. Megan called the meeting officially to order with a tap of the
gavel.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Council Member Smith moved approval of the minutes of the regular City Council
Meeting of August 16, 2004; Council Member Milliman seconded; passed unanimously.
OPENING OF BIDS
Mayor for the Day Megan Leonard opened and Mayor Falk read the bids for the
Landscaping, Mowing and Snow Removal Contract. Bids were received from Edwards
Landscaping, Valley Crest Landscaping Maintenance and Worry Free Lawn Care.
Mayor Falk thanked all the companies for submitting their bids and said the
City would be in touch with them after reviewing the contract bids in detail.
COMMENTS FROM CITIZENS
Mayor Falk introduced Troop Leader Angelique Klondike and seven Scouts from
Troop 1877. They attended the Council Meeting to fulfill a requirement for
the Model Citizen Merit Badge. Megan Leonard also fulfilled a requirement
for a Lead On Badge. Each Scout introduced herself to the Council.
POLICE REPORT:
Chief Wilson presented the police report and provided the Council with an
update on three break-ins where generators and compressors were taken. An
arrest was made and the items recovered. The Police Department will hold another
Safety/Self Defense class September 21, with 18 residents signed up so far.
Officers Dennis Wine and Marianne Haverlin will conduct the class
.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Council Member Milliman gave SECOND READING, ORDINANCE NO. 446, SERIES 2004:
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 150.02 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY
OF PROSPECT CONCERNING RESTRICTIONS FOR RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS AND LOTS; Council
Member Simon seconded; passed unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
Mayor Falk requested the Council approve a budget adjustment not to exceed
$3,500 to replace a broken computer which is used to design all of the Citys
publications and other complex graphic design projects. Council Member Simon
moved approval of the adjustment; Council Member Tucci seconded; passed unanimously.
ADJOURNMENT:
Mayor Falk thanked Megan for her participation as Mayor for the Day. Upon
motion by Council Member Simon and a second from Council Member Milliman,
Megan then gaveled the meeting closed at 8 p.m.
