Falk called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Council Member Zimmerman moved approval of the minutes of the regular
City Council Meeting of September 15, 1997; Council Member Simon seconded;
passed unanimously.

BUSINESS:
Council Member Smith gave SECOND READING, ORDINANCE NO. 347, SERIES 1997:
AN ORDINANCE ENACTING AND ADOPTING A SUPPLEMENT TO THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF PROSPECT, KENTUCKY; Council Member Simon seconded; passed unanimously.

BUSINESS
A Proclamation by Lawrence C. Falk, Mayor, was presented by Mayor Falk
proclaiming October 1997 to be: Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
POLICE
REPORT
Chief Nugent thanked the Harrods Creek Fire Department for their participation
in the Pun’kin Painting Contest and Safety Security Fair. They did a
great job handing out balloons and fire hats and giving tours of the fire
engine. Chief Nugent also thanked and praised his officers for a very successful
day. The photo identification kit was very popular, as was the bike safety
demonstration and the kids enjoyed the opportunity to see a police car up
close. Reflective Halloween bags and stickers were given out along with many
safety brochures. Otherwise, nothing significant to report.
Council
Member Simon agreed that the affair was a huge success and thanked everyone
involved for a great job and hopes it will be a yearly event.

passed unanimously. Mayor Falk declared the meeting adjourned at 7:34 p.m.
