for whole area. Ms. Hite and Ms. High both said the goal for the comprehensive
plan is to give guidelines and tools for the City to consider whether changes
are appropriate for area.
FINANCIAL
REPORT:
Mayor Falk presented the financial report for February 1997. There was
no discussion.
POLICE
REPORT:
Chief Nugent reported a very busy time patrolling the City with all the
rain and floods. In particular, a major concern was keeping U.S. 42 open and
Chief Nugent worked with Chief Heydt of the Harrods Creek Fire Department
in monitoring the water level at the Harrods Creek Bridge over U.S. 42 and
helped with the sand bags. Chief Nugent and his officers reported flood activities
to City Hall so residents could be informed when they called. Chief Nugent
reported a new problem is the arrival of turkey vultures in the City. In order
to disperse these birds, a noisemaking pyrotechnic device will be used over
a few-day period. Mayor Falk said the good news was that the flood in Little
Harrods Creek had washed out the beaver dams, but the bad news was that, unfortunately,
several beavers were killed in the process.

BUSINESS:

NEW BUSINESS:
Council Member Milliman gave first reading to ORDINANCE NO. 336, SERIES
