Whereas, Martin M. Johnstone has served with distinction for more than 20 years as a member of the Judiciary in the Commonwealth of Kentucky; and,
Whereas,
as a Magistrate Judge,
District Court Judge, Circuit Court Judge and, most recently, as a Judge of
the Kentucky Court of Appeals, he has received the highest praise for his
fairness, knowledge and abilities; and,
Whereas, as
a longtime and respected resident of the City of Prospect, he is held in the
highest esteem by his neighbors and many friends; and,
Whereas, on
November 5, 1996, he was elected overwhelmingly to the State’s highest judicial
office as a Justice of the Supreme Court of Kentucky;
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved
the City of Prospect expresses its
respect, appreciation and affection for Justice Martin M. Johnstone for the
distinction and honor he has brought to our City, Jefferson County, the Commonwealth
of Kentucky and the judiciary of the Commonwealth; and,
Be It Further Resolved a
copy of this Resolution be displayed in a prominent place in the City Hall
of the City of Prospect and a suitable copy be presented to Justice Johnstone.
