CITY OF PROSPECT
CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING
JANUARY 1, 1997

PRESENT
Mayor Lonnie Falk, Council Members Nan Milliman, Alan Simon, Harold Smith, Sandy Tucci and Lee Zimmerman; City Administrator Ann Simms; Police Chief Lewis Nugent; Acting Recording Secretary Frank Simms.

Council Member Raymond Burse was absent.

Noting Council Members Milliman, Simon, Smith, Tucci and Zimmerman had been first duly sworn by the Hon. Martin Johnstone, Justice of the Kentucky Supreme Court, Mayor Falk declared a quorum to be present and called the meeting to order at 1:10 p.m.

SPECIAL ORDER
Council Member Simon introduced and Council Member Smith read in full a special resolution commending Mr. Justice Johnstone for his two decades of service to the Commonwealth as a member of the judiciary at every level from Magistrate Judge to Justice of the Supreme Court, noting his recent election to the state's highest Court and the high esteem in which he is held by his many friends and neighbors; Council Member Milliman seconded; passed unanimously. Mayor Falk presented Justice Johnstone with a framed copy of the resolution and noted another copy will be permanently displayed in City Hall.

ADJOURNMENT
Council Member Zimmerman moved adjournment; Council Member Tucci seconded; passed unanimously. The Mayor declared the meeting adjourned at 1:18 p.m. by wishing everyone a Happy New Year.
