What's to Read?

There are at least 3,000 fiction,
non-fiction, and biographies in the adult section.

The City is on a lease plan for our adult books which enables the Reading Center to receive newly published works the day they are permitted to go on the store or library shelves. The plan allows for us to keep 1 out of every 4 books returned to the leasing company as a permanent book in our permenant collection.

Many of our books have been donated by residents since our opening on March 25, 2002.

The 500 youth books and children's picture books were donated to the Reading Center by the Propect-Goshen Rotary Club. The collection contains many classics as well as books by the most popular modern authors.

Additional books have been purchased for the youth/children's sections with proceeds from the Reading Center's book sales.

A representative of County Judge Rebecca Jackson presents a proclaimation to former Mayor Falk honoring the City of Prospect on the opening of the Lawrence C. Falk Reading Center.

The center was recently renamed to honor former Mayor Falk who was instrumental in developing this important part of Prospect.

With a large variety of books donated from many generous sources the library can be a source of inspiration to many of the younger residents of Prospect
